Jul 20, 2016 Our Rating. 7/10 – The Falcon Zero F-360 is only worth considering if you need a dual cam system, as the video quality is far worse than single dash cams for this price. If you are a taxi or UBER driver needing to record both the road and inside the car, this is one of the cheapest dual cameras you will find. May 02, 2016 My new Falcon Zero F360 worked for one day and today just stopped working. The red light is on when starting the car, so it looks like there is power to the unit, but nothing else is on - no video or audio!, pressing any of the buttons doesn't do anything to resolve this!

Top Dashcam for Uber & Lyft Drivers in 2016
Here is our pick for the best dash camera in 2017 for Uber and Lyft drivers. Ride sharing services are becoming increasingly popular, which is great for anyone looking to generate additional income. But before you sign yourself up to be an Uber driver, it’s important to equip yourself with the right tools and the right insurance for the job.
Dash cameras or “taxi cams”are common tools for Uber drivers, both for the sake of their car (in case of an accident) and for the sake of their rating. The internet is full of stories of uncontrollable passengers, bad rides, and near-accidents. But with the right dash cam, most of those dangers can be avoided,
Before you purchase a dash cam, make sure to check your state’s laws regarding camera use and surveillance. In some states, recording passengers without their awareness is illegal, and doing so can cause more harm than good. If that’s the case in your state, you’ll need to inform your passengers every time they enter the car that you are audio and video recording them.
Top Dash Cam Features For Uber Drivers
In normal circumstances, you’d be fine with a basic dash cam that shoots in HD. But for Uber drivers, there are a couple of things to consider before buying a dash camera. It’s best to get a camera that comes with two (or more) lenses, so you can record the road in front of you, and what’s going on inside the car, at the same time. That way, you’ll be able to keep track of everything that’s happening, and if something goes wrong you’ll have solid evidence of what happened.
A discreet camera is also a good idea. Some passengers might not be comfortable with a large, clunky looking camera sitting on your dash. With a small, or generally unnoticeable camera, they’ll feel more at ease. If you’re in a state that doesn’t require two-party consent, it’ll also be easier to use the camera without comment when it’s concealed, although telling your passengers verbally or with a posted notice that you have one is often enough to influence their behavior.
No matter what, though, you need a wild field of view, both in front of you and inside the car. A cheaper, narrower, camera can easily miss things that are happening beside or inside the car, which renders the camera pointless.
The Best Dash Cam For Uber
Our top pick for Uber drivers is the Falcon F360 dashcam (full review below). This high-quality camera replaces your rear-view mirror, making it a seamless addition to you current car and leaving room view a GPS unit. With two adjustable HD cameras, you’ll be able to cover both the road and the inside of the car without an issue, and the infra-red interior camera lets you capture everything that happens, even at night.
The F360 hits all of our criteria for a rideshare dash cameras, and it’s worth checking out. Even if you don’t work for Uber or Lyft, it’s a great high-end pick for anyone serious about security. It’s on the upper end of most price ranges — typically averaging around $150 online — but its features more than make up for the price.
Full Review of the Falcon Zero F360 Dashcam
The F360 is a rear view mirror-style dual lens dash camera manufactured by Falcon Zero. Featuring dual 1080p positionable cameras, a 3.5 inch in-mirror LCD, night vision features, and a high quality interior microphone, the F360 is a brilliantly made high-end dash cam favored by rideshare drivers for Uber, Lyft and dash camera enthusiasts. If you’re looking for a camera that lets you film multiple perspectives, be they inside or outside the car, this is a great (and uniquely designed) choice.
Unlike most dash cams, the F360 mounts on top of your rearview mirror with clamping clips, effectively replacing your mirror. This puts the camera in the perfect position to cover both the interior and the exterior of the car, while still providing a clear view. The brackets on the camera can accommodate mirrors as narrow as two and a half inches, and as wide as three and a half inches, which may prove troublesome for some cars. Similarly, car owners with controls mounted on their existing mirrors may want to consider the importance of those controls.

The camera lenses themselves are discreet ‘bulbs’ on the bottom of the mirror, which can be positioned as you like. Pointed forward, the two cameras can cover up to 240 degrees in front of you — perfect for driving in dense city traffic where keeping track of what’s beside you is important. If you’d prefer to record the interior of the car, you can position either the 120 degree camera to capture both yourself and any of your passengers. The one downside with this adjustment system is the lack of vertical movement, which can make fine-tuning the camera position somewhat frustrating.
On the video front the F360 is serviceable, but somewhat underwhelming. The cameras shoot 1080p HD footage that is perfect for insurance purposes, but less than attractive for personal viewing. The footage tends to look washed out, and the cameras respond slowly to sudden changes in lighting. License plates are visible in dense traffic but illegible on expressways, and some detail is lost in blown highlights. On the flipside, the night mode performs perfectly. Using the night vision mode desaturates the footage, but it produces incredibly useful footage.
Like most dash cams, the F360 features loop recording features, photo modes, on-camera video playback, and HDMI output. As a refreshing change of pace, the camera’s power cords are easy to work with, and the included adhesives make routing the cords a snap. The camera’s built in battery is decent, lasting around 45 minutes in testing. Nearly all dashcam batteries are used for saving the video file when the outside power source of your car is turned off. The battery is not intended to be a stand alone power source to run the video camera off of, only for quickly saving the video file before shutting off.

Overall, the F360 is a great camera for anyone who needs its very specific feature set. If you’re looking for a discreet dual-camera dash cam with low-light features that costs less than $200 (the base price of many ‘professional’ dash cams), the F360 is the camera for your needs. It’s great for rideshare drivers who work for services like Uber or Lyft, but it might not be the best camera for the basic user who simply want to record the road ahead of them.
